During his time at Brammall Lane, he took in loan spells with Buxon, Matlock Town and Barrow before signing an eighteen-month contract with Barnsley in January 2016 after a successful trial.

The following summer, however, he found himself signing a permanent deal with League Two side Yeovil Town. He made sixty-seven league appearances for them across two seasons.

In June 2018, he signed for fellow League Two side Mansfield Town for an undisclosed fee. During his two seasons contracted to the Stags, he took in a six-month loan spell with Newport County before being released at the end of the season.

His next move saw him take in a campaign with Tranmere Rovers before moving to Walsall the following summer.

Before moving to the Mariners last summer, Khan spent the second half of the previous season with Leyton Orient after signing an eighteen-month deal. That ended six months later with Khan arriving at Blundell Park.

His first season with Town saw him make thirty-nine appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals, before making his international debut with Pakistan this summer.
