Grimsby Town hosted Rotherham on Saturday morning at Bradley FDC in windy conditions.
Town made a great start to the game when Essel broke free and smashed home after 8 minutes.
Town piled on the pressure when he then pulled a fine save from the keeper and Tomlinson smashed over, Scott then hit the post with a long-range effort and Markham missed from close range after Bramwell hooked the ball back in.
Rotherham then scored a well-worked goal just before the break to make it 1-1.
In the second half, conditions got worse as the wind picked up and the surface deteriorated, Rotherham pinned Town back and put the backline under a lot of pressure, scoring from close range on the 60th minute. They then continued to apply the pressure and nullified Town to see out the 3 points.
Next up for Town is Doncaster at home next Saturday.
