We are encouraging supporters to donate their old winter coats when they come to Blundell Park for tomorrow’s game.

The football club is aware that many in our community are going to face a challenging winter, due to the cost-of-living crisis, and we are keen to help as many of those people as we can.

With around 8,000 supporters expected at tomorrow’s game, we thought this was the perfect opportunity to organise a community coat donation at Blundell Park.

It doesn’t matter if the coats are for adults, children or babies, any donations are welcome, as long as they are in a good enough condition to see someone through this winter.

Speaking of the initiative, Jo Schofield, the CEO of GTSET said: “The colder weather is upon us and with the cost-of-living crisis, we understand that people don’t have the money to buy a winter coat. We want to help.

“By collecting donations of winter coats from our fans, we can work with our voluntary sector partners to ensure that pre-loved coats reach the people that need them most.”

Supporters who would like to donate to the appeal need to go to the door between the entrance of McMenemy’s and the Upper turnstile, anytime from 11am until kick-off. Jo and other members of her team will be there to assist you. Tomorrow they will only be accepting donations, but if you would like to benefit from the pre-loved coats you can email jo@gtfc.co.uk.
