We are delighted to announce the launch of the Community Partnership Fund, a brand-new initiative that will allow people in our town, who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford to experience a day out at Blundell Park, the opportunity to come and watch the Mariners.
The aim of the GTFC Community Partnership Fund is for it to consist of several like-minded local businesses with a passion for Grimsby Town FC and a desire to help families and individuals from the most deprived areas of our community to discover a love for their local team. The more funds we can raise through the initiative, the more ways we will be able to help the people in our community who need it the most.
The first business to join the partnership with a pledge to donate £20,000 per season for the next 3 years is 3Q Industrial Supplies, a Grimsby-based company, run by Pete Rose and Gavin Munson.
Speaking of this exciting new initiative, Pete Rose said: “Myself and Gav Munson, my business partner, have had 3Q Industrial Supplies for 20 years, and that’s been down to the people of this town.
“I was fortunate enough to come to games as a young lad with my family, but for some young kids in the town, that’s not possible. So, we are delighted that the money from this project will go to enabling families to come to the games together and enjoy what is a great experience for everybody.”
Although the Community Partnership has now launched and local people will instantly begin to reap the benefits of 3Q Industrial’s generosity, Pete has asked other business owners to come forward and pledge their support for a cause that will have a positive effect on the whole town.
“I think we’re now at the start of a really good time for the club. As Jason said in an earlier interview, the club can become more than just a football club. It becomes embedded in the community and is then able to do great things. That’s what this project is about,” Pete explained.
“I hope 3Q becomes a very small logo on a very big board of local businesses from the town. Businesses like Myenergi and Orsted already do some fantastic things, but this partnership is for the small and medium-sized businesses who are passionate about Grimsby Town and want to enable young kids, and families who are struggling, to come and join us at Blundell Park.
“Businesses don’t have to pledge much to be a part of it, it’s just a case of whatever they can afford – whether that’s £100, a grand or £50,000 – it doesn’t matter. The bigger the figure we can raise every year, the more impact this project will have on the club, the town and the people who live here.”
We’d like to thank Pete and Gavin of 3Q Industrial for their brilliant support of the club and their huge generosity. It’s because of pledges like this that we really are greater together.
