Four Grimsby Town fans from Norway were given a special tour around Blundell Park, and met manager Michael Jolley and the first-team players.

Lars Olav Sæther, Per Øyvind Grimsby, Øyvind Brynhildsen and Ronny Skansen, who are members of the Scandinavian Grimsby Town supporters’ group, made the 1,100-mile journey to Blundell Park for Saturday’s League Two game against Cheltenham Town.

But the four Town fans were left bitterly disappointed after the fixture was called off hours before kick-off due to a waterlogged pitch.

Two of the friends, Per Øyvind Grimsby and Ronny Skansen, still went inside the ground to have a brief look around the stadium.

But all four were invited for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Blundell Park and Cheapside training ground on Monday as a special thank you for their fantastic support.

Per Øyvind Grimsby said: “I feel like I am at home here, and I want to thank the club for showing us around – it’s been very great hospitality.”

They sat down in the manager’s office for a chat with Michael Jolley about their experiences as Town fans from Norway.

And they also met the Mariners players, including captain James McKeown, top goalscorer James Hanson, and fellow Scandinavian Ludvig Öhman.
