Saturday afternoon sees the Mariners travel south to take on Swindon Town as we return to Skybet League Two action.
The trip to take on the ninth-placed Robins will see Town look to build on back to back wins, the second of which saw the Club advance to the Fourth Round of the Emirates FA Cup for the first time since 2000.
With manager Scott Lindsay departing, the hosts go into the match with a caretaker duo in charge but Mariners boss Paul Hurst explained that he doesn’t see too many surprises coming his way.
“Gavin Gunning and Steve Mildenhall are taking the team. I wouldn’t envisage that they will suddenly change how they approach the game, I think it’s too short a time for that to happen.
“So I think we know what sort of team will be facing and the sort of football they want to play. I think if you spoke to most people who watch our league, whether that’s managers, scouts or fans, I think many people would put Swindon higher up the table than their league position is.
Discussing his views on Saturday’s opponents, Hurst added: “I think they’re in a decent position but they always seem to get mentioned about being the best team that people have faced or certainly one of the best.
“I think we thought that at Blundell Park earlier this season, albeit that was a bit difficult to assess totally. They definitely had the better of the first half but we started the second well. They obviously had a man sent off that made it a little easier for ourselves. I think that, in that period just after half-time until the red card, we’d got more to grips with the game and onto the front foot.
“Overall, they’re a good team. I think there are some players in there that are above the level. They’ve obviously got Charlie Austin, I think he’ll make his debut against us.
“It will be a tough game, there’s no doubt about that. We will go there and try to build on the last couple of results which have been excellent for us.”
Tickets for the match will be available from the Energy Check County Ground up to kick-off with card payments available.
