We are absolutely delighted to reach the Quarter Finals of this season’s Emirates FA Cup and make competition history in the process.

Last night’s 2-1 victory at Premier League Southampton epitomised everything which we have come to expect from Paul Hurst’s team in the last 18 months – it was a performance full of grit, determination and moments of quality which have left memories that will last a lifetime.

In defeating Southampton, we also became the first club in FA Cup history to beat five teams from higher divisions and reach the last eight. We are incredibly proud that that record now belongs to the Mariners.

We would like to place on record our thanks to Paul, Chris, their staff, and all of the players for another wonderful night for Grimsby Town Football Club, and the 4,300 supporters who travelled hundreds of miles on a Wednesday night to cheer on the Mariners. Last night the whole footballing world got to see how amazing our fans are.

We now have a Quarter Final against Brighton & Hove Albion to look forward to and another memorable and historic occasion for Grimsby Town Football Club.
