Community Open Day Announced

We are delighted to announce that our annual Community Open Day, in association with the Mariners Trust and the Grimsby Town Sports & Education Trust (GTSET), will take place on Monday 31st July at Blundell Park.

The event, which will be our first since 2021 due to the fast turnaround last summer between seasons, will be open to all fans, both young and old, and will include opportunities to meet our 23/24 squad, watch the first team training on the pitch and see the annual squad photo being taken.

Speaking of the Open Day, Grimsby Town and Mariners Trust board member Dave Roberts said, “We are delighted to once again be hosting the Community Open Day which always proves to be a really popular event with supporters. It is a fantastic opportunity for fans to interact with players and management as well as enjoy fun and games around the ground.

“This year the event will be on a Monday to combine it with the annual photo shoot which will be an added bonus for supporters to witness. Also, as it will take place during the school holidays, we hope to see a large number of families coming along to Blundell Park for what is always a very enjoyable day.”

The event will take place from 9:30am until 2pm and here’s a run-down of what fans should expect.

After the Constitutional Avenue gate opens at 9:30am, the First Team squad will emerge from the dressing room at 10am to meet supporters, sign autographs and pose for selfies ahead of the training session. Fans will be able to watch from the Lower and Pontoon but not the Main Stand which will be closed to the public. At the conclusion of the session at approximately midday, there will be another opportunity for fans to meet their heroes before the players break for lunch at 12:30pm.

During the break, supporters will be able to make use of the Mariners Trust bar, which will be open for hot and cold refreshments throughout the day, participate on GTSET’s giant inflatable football dartboard or their ‘3v3 pitch’ and there will also be a face painting station set up in the Family Fanzone for our younger attendees. The Dogs – one of our usual matchday food vendors – will also be present through the event.

The players will later return to the hallowed turf to have the annual squad photo taken and the event is scheduled to finish at approximately 2pm.

Entry to the event is free of charge and we hope to see many young supporters at Blundell Park with it being the first week of school holidays for the majority!
