Regrettably, Grimsby Town Football Club is warning supporters in the strongest possible terms not to bring pyrotechnic devices to home and away matches after the Club issued stadium bans to two supporters following incidents at Bradford City on 9th September 2023 with further investigations also taking place following another occurrence at our away fixture against Wrexham on 16th September 2023.
While we are aware that the vast majority of supporters back the Club in a proud and positive manner both home and away, we once again find ourselves in the position of needing to remind a minority that it is a criminal offence to bring or attempt to bring a pyrotechnic device into a football stadium.
The Club will actively support any police investigation and action arising from any such occurrence relating to our supporters at home and away matches.
We would also like to inform supporters that the sanctions handed out were issued to fans under the age of 18.
These incidents are particularly disappointing given that the Club has previously communicated warnings regarding such behaviour to supporters and the EFL has recently launched its ‘Love Football. Protect The Game’ initiative for the 2023/24 season.

We are pleased that there has been no pyrotechnic incidents at Blundell Park since the middle of last season but the small minority that is letting us down away from home has left us with no option other than to issue this statement.
The Club would like to place on record our thanks to the majority of our supporters who represent the Mariners in an impeccable manner when cheering on Paul Hurst and the team up and down the country.
