Everyone at the football club is heartbroken to learn of the untimely passing of former player Peter Handyside.

Peter moved to Blundell Park from his native Scotland in 1990 and, after progressing through our youth system, he went on to feature over 200 times for the club between 1992 and 2001.

The classy defender was a regular in the Mariners backline throughout the 90s and was an integral part of Alan Buckley’s team that achieved a historic Wembley double in 1997-98.

Our thoughts are with Peter’s family at this sad time.
