Grimsby Town Football Club is encouraging supporters to ‘Bring Your Scarf’ to Saturday’s eagerly anticipated Sky Bet League Two fixture against Crewe Alexandra.
With the Mariners currently sitting fifth in the division, level on points with the Railwaymen just above, we are calling on our fans to bring a Town scarf with them – new or old – to help improve the atmosphere at Blundell Park and back David Artell’s boys.
Speaking of the initiative, CEO Polly Bancroft said, “Whilst we know that results and performances at home are closely linked to the atmosphere at home games, Mariners fans can make a massive difference when they get behind the team. As David has said before, our supporters have helped the team achieve some really important wins this year, and we want to make home advantage count.
“We’re hopeful that the ‘Bring your scarfs’ initiative can encourage more fan-participation on matchdays and we look forward to seeing plenty of black and white around the ground on Saturday. Let’s show Crewe what it means to play at Blundell Park.”
In addition to ‘Bring Your Scarf’, we will also be selecting young supporters to take part in a penalty shoot-out against Mighty Mariner before the game. We also encourage fans to bring flags with them to Blundell Park, as long as they adhere to the health and safety guidelines, showing the CE kite mark.
Tickets for the Saturday’s game are still available online via the Ticket Portal and Ticket Office, with prices starting from £23 for adults, £16 for OAPs and 18-22 year-olds and £7 for accompanied juniors.
If you haven’t got a Mariners scarf but want to back the initiative, we have several different GTFC scarves available from the Club Shop or online at Marinersdirect.co.uk.
