The 22-year-old wide midfielder has been added to Artell’s squad in the 2024-25 January transfer window, signing from fellow Sky Bet League Two side MK Dons.

The 22-year-old came through the youth system at St Patrick’s Athletic, going on to make 54 appearances for the League of Ireland Premier Division side where he also picked up the Young Player of the Season and Goal of the Season during his time at Richmond Park.

Burns joined MK Dons in 2022 and played 22 times for the Buckinghamshire club in League One during the 2022-23 campaign.

The former Irish U21 international joined Shamrock Rovers on loan in January 2024 and played 40 times, scoring five times, for the League of Ireland side, including appearances in their recent Europa League campaign.
