Our young Mariners put four past rivals Doncaster Rovers on the road to extended their unbeaten run in in the league to four games.
Despite going a goal down in the early stages, a Charlie Clements hat-trick and a strike from Midwinter sealed all three points for Town.
Neil Woods made no changes to the side who overcame Chesterfield 3-2 last time out.
Hayden Rogers sat in between the sticks, with a back four of Callum Storr, Alex Graham, Alfie Foy and Finley Axcell in front of him.
The midfield was made up of Harry Shipstone, Jack Collins and Clements, with Carlo Midwinter and Tom Rennardson operating on the wings and captain Henry Brown leading the line.
The hosts started the tie the stronger side and controlled the opening stages which they were rewarded for when they broke the deadlock; a long-range effort ricocheting off the post before being tapped in for the rebound.
Town responded quickly as a reverse pass from Brown to Clements, saw the latter lift the ball over the Rovers’ keeper for the equaliser and from that moment on, it was one way traffic after the break.
It didn’t take the young Mariners long to take the lead in the second period. Shipstone’s effort from distance was turned in by Midwinter from inside the area to give Town the advantage.
Clements got his brace on the half-hour mark when a cross from Collins came into the area and the forward rose to meet it and head home for Town’s third.
Clements rounded off his hat-trick from inside the area for Town’s fourth to cap off a deserved victory.
Next up for our young Mariners sees Wrexham make the journey to Grimsby on Saturday 15th February in a 1pm kick-off.
