Our Women’s First Team couldn’t find the back of the net as they left Nottingham with nothing, falling to a 1-0 defeat against Sherwood F.C.
The opening quarter of the game was quiet for both sides, but Ben Challen’s side grew into the game after that and started to create chances. The first corner of the game was whipped in by Olivia Kershaw and between Leah Wray and Lily Jacklin, the ball frustratingly couldn’t make its way into the back of the net.
Sherwood took the lead just after the 20-minute mark and the only other action of the first-half was a chance that fell for Town, but Alisha Dejonge’s header was over the bar.
Town put pressure on the hosts in the second-half, with multiple chances falling for Beth Wharton, Pariss Welsh and new signing Alicia Davis, but it wasn’t to be for Ben Challen’s side who left Nottingham with nothing.
Next up for our Women’s First Team is a home tie against Arnold Eagles on Sunday at Clee Fields in a 2pm kick-off in their penultimate fixture of the season.
