Reece became David Artell’s first defensive signing in the summer transfer window ahead of the 2025-26 campaign from Spennymoor Town.

The 23-year-old made 98 appearances in all competitions for the National League North side since joining them in the summer of 2023.

Across his two-year spell with Spennymoor, Staunton won numerous player of the season accolades and contributed 16 assists in all competitions across the 2024-25 campaign.

Staunton’s career began as a youngster in Bradford City’s academy at the age of 11, making his Bantam’s First Team debut at the age of just 15-years old and signing his first professional contract in December 2019.

Staunton made four appearances for the Republic of Ireland U18s, making his debut in an international friendly against Belgium in 2018.
