The Mariners produced a superb lunchtime display to extend their unbeaten run to eight games with an outstanding victory over the League Two leaders at the Bescot Stadium.
After Ellis Harrison fired the hosts ahead early on, Town responded brilliantly. Jayden Luker curled home from a cleverly-worked set piece to level before Danny Rose confidently converted a penalty just before the break after Tyrell Warren was fouled.
Luker added his second shortly after the hour with a composed finish to cap a flowing team move, ensuring a deserved three points and sending the travelling supporters home delighted.
Grimsby Town 1-4 Walsall: 19th October 2024
Despite a promising first half in which Town created the better opportunities, the visitors took control after the restart at Blundell Park.
Former Mariner Jamille Matt opened the scoring with a header before Jamie Jellis doubled the advantage with a stunning long-range volley. Nathan Lowe added a third as Walsall tightened their grip on the contest.
Substitute Donovan Wilson pulled one back late on to offer brief hope, but Danny Johnson struck in stoppage time to complete the scoring on a difficult afternoon for the hosts.
Walsall 0-1 Grimsby Town: 19th August 2025
An excellent all-round performance earned Town an impressive away victory in front of the Sky Sports cameras. Both sides had chances during an evenly-contested first half, with Christy Pym called into action to preserve the clean sheet.
The decisive moment arrived eight minutes after the interval when Evan Khouri reacted quickest after the ball ricocheted inside the box, finishing from close range.
Walsall pushed hard for an equaliser during the closing stages, but disciplined defending ensured the Mariners held firm to secure a deserved win and maintain their strong start to the campaign.

Town were left frustrated as the Saddlers cancelled out an early opener to share the spoils at Blundell Park.
James Hanson gave the Mariners the perfect start when he followed up to score after Stefan Payne’s initial effort had been saved. The hosts controlled much of the first half but were unable to extend their advantage.
They were made to pay in stoppage time before the break as Caolan Lavery headed home an equaliser. Despite plenty of effort after the interval, Town could not find a winner in a match that felt like a missed opportunity.

The Mariners came from behind to secure an impressive victory at the Banks’s Stadium. Caolan Lavery struck early for the hosts, but Town grew into the contest and equalised through Elliott Whitehouse’s well-taken header shortly before half-time.
James Hanson then took centre stage after the break, powering home a header to put Town in front before calmly converting a late penalty to seal the points.
It completed another strong comeback performance and ensured the travelling fans had plenty to celebrate.
