We are delighted to welcome back former Town winger Mike Brolly as our Returning Legend in McMenemy’s for tomorrow’s fixture against Barrow AFC.
A hugely popular figure during his time at the Club, Brolly made over 250 league appearances for Town between 1976 and 1982, playing a key role in one of the most successful periods in the Club’s history. The Scottish winger was part of the side that secured back-to-back promotions, helping the Mariners rise from the Fourth Division to the Second Division.
Known for his work rate, quality on the ball and eye for goal, Brolly is perhaps best remembered for his iconic brace against Everton in the League Cup at Blundell Park in 1979, a famous night that remains etched in the Club’s history.
Across a career that also included spells with Chelsea, Bristol City, Derby County and Scunthorpe United, Brolly made more than 450 Football League appearances, scoring over 50 goals.
Following his playing career, he remained in the local area and went on to inspire the next generation as a science teacher, further strengthening his connection to the community.
Hospitality for this fixture is now sold out, and we look forward to giving Mike a warm Blundell Park welcome as he returns to the Club where he enjoyed some of the finest moments of his career.
