Mariners to Support Her Game Too at Friday’s Harrogate Fixture

We will dedicate Friday’s fixture against Harrogate Town to supporting Her Game Too, a campaign committed to tackling sexism in sport and creating a more inclusive environment for everyone who loves football.

Founded in May 2021, Her Game Too is a voluntary movement led by a team of passionate female football supporters determined to challenge discrimination and promote equality within football and the wider sporting world. The campaign works to raise awareness, provide education and encourage positive change across the game.

The initiative launched ahead of the 2021 FA Cup Final, with a powerful video highlighting the experiences of women in football. The response was immediate and overwhelming, with the video receiving more than one million views within the first 24 hours and thousands of supporters getting behind the campaign.

Since then, Her Game Too has grown rapidly, forming partnerships with clubs across the English Football League, National League and grassroots football, while also working alongside players, organisations and governing bodies to promote a safer and more inclusive sporting culture.

The campaign’s message is clear: football should be a safe, welcoming and inclusive space for everyone, regardless of gender, background or ability.

We are proud to support the work of Her Game Too and the values it represents. As a football club rooted in its community, creating an environment where all supporters feel welcome and respected at matches is a priority both on and off the pitch.

As part of the dedicated matchday, the Her Game Too logo will be displayed on the big screen at Blundell Park to help raise awareness of the campaign and its message, and there will also be a dedicated feature in the matchday programme.

Supporters will also have the opportunity to celebrate another special moment for the club at half-time, as the newly crowned Grimsby Town Women champions will complete a lap of honour, allowing fans to congratulate them on a fantastic season.

Everyone at the club looks forward to recognising the achievements of the Women’s team while also highlighting the importance of creating a football culture that is inclusive and welcoming for all.

Become a Her Game Too Ambassador

Her Game Too and Grimsby Town are currently looking for a new ambassador to join the team. Club ambassadors act as the main point of contact between Her Game Too and their club, working closely to develop the campaign’s aims and ambitions. Ambassadors also help with grassroots partnerships and local events, supporting fans with questions and queries, and are trained in safeguarding.

If you’re a loyal supporter and want to help make football more inclusive, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in your local community. Find more information on how to apply here.

Together, we can ensure football remains a game for everyone.
