Player of the Year Awards 2025/26: Rodgers, Wharton and Walker among winners at Blundell Park

We were delighted to celebrate the achievements of the 2025/26 season at last night’s DH Tuck Player of the Year Awards, held at McMenemy’s, Blundell Park.

Supporters, players, staff and sponsors came together for a special evening recognising standout performances across both the Men’s and Women’s teams, with a series of prestigious awards presented throughout the night.

The event, proudly sponsored by DH Tuck, reflected on a memorable campaign so far and provided the perfect opportunity to honour the players who have made such a significant impact in black and white.

Rodgers crowned Men’s Player of the Year

After an outstanding season at the heart of the Mariners defence, Harvey Rodgers was named Men’s Player of the Year.

Rodgers has been a model of consistency throughout the campaign and was recently recognised nationally after being named in the Sky Bet League Two Team of the Season.

An ever-present figure in the league campaign, the defender has started every league fixture so far and played a key role in Town’s push at the top end of the table, combining leadership, resilience and reliability at the back with important contributions going forward.

Kieran Green finished second in the voting, with Charles Vernam placed third.

Young Player honour for Kacurri

The Cameron Walsh Men’s Young Player of the Year award went to Maldini Kacurri following an excellent first season with the Club.

The 20-year-old centre-back has impressed supporters with his commanding displays, physical presence and maturity beyond his years since arriving at Blundell Park.

Jude Soonsup-Bell finished second, with Cameron Gardner third.

Walker strike voted Goal of the Year

Jamie Walker’s sensational first goal against Cheltenham Town at Blundell Park was voted Men’s Goal of the Year.

The long-range strike, which also won Sky Bet League Two Goal of the Month for September, saw Walker unleash an unstoppable effort into the top corner from distance.

Vernam’s strike against Manchester United finished second, while Walker’s second goal against Cheltenham claimed third.

Wharton takes Women’s top honour

Beth Wharton was named Women’s Player of the Year after another exceptional campaign in front of goal.

A key figure for the Mariners since the Women’s team was formed, Wharton has once again delivered consistently, scoring 33 goals and registering nine assists in 21 appearances.

Milly North finished second in the voting, with Mia Westerman third.

North wins Women’s Goal of the Year

Milly North’s strike against Notts County Development was voted Women’s Goal of the Year.

Eden Pedersen’s goal against Arnold Eagles Ladies finished second, while Liv Kershaw’s effort against Notts County Development came third.

ETC Young Player recognition

The Women’s ETC Young Player of the Year award was presented to Isobel Thompson (U16), recognising her development and performances across the season.

With the Men’s side securing a place in the Sky Bet League Two Play-Offs and the Women’s team being crowned East Midlands Regional Women’s League Division One North champions, the evening was a fitting celebration of progress across the football club.

Everyone at Grimsby Town would like to congratulate all of our winners and nominees, and thank supporters for their incredible backing throughout the season.
