Grimsby Town Head Coach David Artell has been shortlisted for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month award for April following an outstanding run of form.
The Mariners began the month outside the play-off places but ended it with their spot secured, thanks to a series of impressive performances and results under Artell’s guidance.
Town picked up five wins from seven matches across April, scoring 17 goals in the process as their attacking style proved decisive during a crucial period of the season.
Despite a difficult start to the month with defeat at home to Harrogate Town, the Mariners responded emphatically with a run of results that propelled them up the table.
Victories on the road at Crawley Town and Gillingham were followed by a dramatic home win over Crewe Alexandra, before further successes against Cambridge United and promotion rivals Swindon Town capped a remarkable month.
A standout performance came in the 4-0 victory over Swindon at Blundell Park, a result that ultimately confirmed Town’s place in the play-offs and underlined the progress made under Artell.
The Head Coach’s emphasis on attacking football, combined with consistency and resilience, has been key to the Mariners’ rise during the final stages of the campaign.
Everyone at the Club would like to congratulate David on his nomination.
