An Update For Our Supporters

Directors of Grimsby Town were pleased to welcome Andrew Pettit and Jason Stockwood to the Club today as representatives of the Consortium who have agreed to acquire a majority shareholding in The Grimsby Town Football Club PLC.

After a general discussion, an introduction was made to key personnel at the Club. Following this, there was a tour around Blundell Park and then the training facilities at Oasis Wintringham and Cheapside.

The process of due diligence is well under way and the Club staff are assisting the Consortium in the preparation of the Future Financial Information and other documents required by the EFL to enable consent to the transfer of shareholding to be given.

Chairman Philip Day stated, “We are delighted to be able to give Andrew, Jason and Tom all necessary assistance in the steps required to enable the transaction to go ahead as soon as possible and to welcome them to the Club today”.

Andrew Pettit said “We thank the Directors and staff for the warm welcome we received and for the time they are devoting to assist with due diligence and the preparation of the EFL documentation. We are working together well on this.”

Andrew, Jason and Tom were involved in the Directors’ decision on the appointment of Paul Hurst and Chris Doig. In addition, they will continue to be involved in Paul’s efforts to sign new players to strengthen the squad.

All parties had the same message to supporters – “Please get behind Paul and the players in their efforts and attempts to climb the table. The Board and the Consortium are as one in their support. We are all fans of the Club and at this time more than ever the players need your support and backing. Whilst sadly we cannot welcome supporters into the ground nevertheless your support, especially on social media, will make a big difference.”
