Anthony Limbrick Post-Cheltenham Town Press Conference

Grimsby Town interim manager Anthony Limbrick feels his side deserved all three points as they drew 0-0 with Cheltenham Town at Blundell Park.

The Mariners had the better of the chances in the Sky Bet League Two clash with Michael Duffโ€™s side, and came close through shots from Elliott Whitehouse and Matt Green.

But it ended goalless as Town moved up to 18th-place in the league โ€“ still with two games in hand on most sides around them.

And Limbrick was disappointed that the Mariners couldnโ€™t quite get all three points from the game.

Speaking on iFollow Mariners, he said: โ€œI thought going into the break 0-0 was unfortunate for us โ€“ I thought we got right on the front foot early in the game.

โ€œWe created numerous chances, we worked the goalkeeper, and I thought we passed the ball quite well in the first half which was pleasing.

โ€œSo for us to come in 0-0 at half time really the better side, I thought that was a little bit harsh on us.

โ€œSecond half I felt we probably ran out of steam a little bit because we tried to keep pressing and on the front foot.

โ€œI think thatโ€™s probably the first time in a while that weโ€™ve had three games in a week, and I think that probably showed a little bit.

โ€œThe boys gave everything โ€“ it was 100 per cent commitment from every single player, and everyone came on and had an impact, so Iโ€™ve got to be pleased with the performance.

โ€œBut unfortunately I think we should be sitting here after the game with three points.โ€

And Limbrick said heโ€™s enjoying his current role as interim manager at Blundell Park.

He said: โ€œWeโ€™d like to get into some good training during that time, and weโ€™ve got the schedule sorted for the rest of this week.

โ€œWho knows whatโ€™s going to happen in terms of the situation with myself and where we are? Weโ€™ll wait and see.

โ€œIโ€™m really enjoying the role at the moment, trying to help the players as much as I can.

โ€œThe players were playing for everyone at the club tonight โ€“ for the fans, themselves, and for everyone.โ€
