Grimsby Town Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Brighton & Hove Albion wide forward Luca Barrington on loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old’s career started in Manchester City’s academy at the age of six and signed his first professional contract in 2022 after scoring 10 goals in 22 games to help the Cityzens win the U18s Premier League in the 2021-22 season.

Barrington then made the move to Brighton in the summer of 2022 and appeared on the bench twice for the Seagulls last season under Roberto De Zerbi.

After securing the signature of the Premier League youngster, Head Coach David Artell said, “We’re excited to have Luca – he’s an excellent, technical player who’s going to provide us with something a bit different.”

“He’s a versatile forward who can play off both flanks and likes to get in behind the opposition. We wanted to strength ourselves in that area of the pitch and, technically, he is very good.

“We’re really happy to have him here and we’re also thankful to Brighton for allowing Luca to join us.”

Barrington will now join up with his new Mariners teammates and could be available for our Sky Bet League Two opener at Fleetwood Town on Saturday.
