Charles Vernam Wins League Two PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for February

Grimsby Town forward Charles Vernam has won the League Two PFA fans’ player of the month award for February.

The 23-year-old scored four goals for Ian Holloway’s side in Sky Bet League Two last month, including a superb hat-trick in the 3-2 away win over Colchester United.

In a poll run by fan engagement experts Snack Media, Vernam won with 24 per cent of the vote.

In the fourth of five divisional votes carried out over 11 days via Snack’s digital and social networks, and supported by top-flight football clubs and press, it was clear that the forward’s strong performances last month – scoring four times and registering one assist – has resonated not just with Mariners fans, but with supporters of all teams.
