We will once again be working in collaboration with Grimsby Town Foundation and the Mariners Trust to offer supporters the opportunity to donate food, warm clothing and gifts for local charities ahead of Christmas.
Every year we welcome donations, both large and small, of food, toys and warm clothing and ensure they go to the people in our area who need them most at an important time of year.
This year we will be delivering food donations to We are One Foundation, warm clothing to Harbour Place, any toys we receive will go to Women’s Aid and The Ark will receive pet food supplies.
On the annual Christmas gift donation, Chair of the Mariners Trust Brian Nicholson said: “As we look forward to Christmas, it’s important for us to think of others less fortunate and offer help. Being the supporters’ arm of GTFC, we are always keen to support the Football Club and Foundation on initiatives, like these, which benefit the people in our community. Whatever our fans can contribute will be warmly appreciated”
Mike Thompson, Grimsby Town Foundation Community Director said: “As the Foundation’s Community Director, I am incredibly proud to support this annual Christmas Gift Donation initiative in collaboration with the Mariners Trust and Grimsby Town Foundation. The generosity of our supporters is always heartwarming, and it’s wonderful to see our community come together to help those in need.”
“This year, we are focusing on providing food, warm clothing, toys, and pet supplies to local charities,” added Mariners Chief Executive Polly Bancroft. “Every contribution, no matter the size, plays a vital role in supporting those less fortunate during this special time of year. Thank you to everyone who chooses to give – your kindness will make a real difference.”
Over the next couple of weeks, there will be several drop off points available to supporters who are able to donate items this year:
Monday 2nd December – Club Shop and Ticket Office, open between 10am and 4pm
Tuesday 3rd December – Ticket Office and Club Shop before the Accrington Stanley game
Thursday 5th December – Lower Bar between 4 and 6pm
Sunday 8th December – Lower Bar between 10am and 12pm
Saturday 14th December – Outside the turnstiles ahead of the Crewe Alexandra game
The Mariners Trust will also be taking cash donations which will go directly to the We are One Foundation to buy fresh meat and veg for their soup kitchen.
We’d like to say a massive thank you in advance to anyone is able to donate this year and help our local community.
