Crest Vote Now Open

On 1st January 2022, the GTFC Board launched a new club website and advised fans of the Club’s first-ever brand guidelines.  50 years after the introduction of the current club crest the Board also advised fans that it had teamed up with lifelong Mariners fan and designer at global giant Apple, Rich Lyons to refine and digitise the club crest.

Following initial feedback received from our supporters, we promised to offer the opportunity to vote on two versions of our crest, retain the current version or continue with our refined design. You can read the original article about the proposed changes and their reasoning by clicking here.

We have now launched a poll that will determine the direction we take with the Club’s crest. To visit the poll and to submit your entry, please click here. We will also have voting slips available in the ticket office for those wishing to cast their vote in person from 10am on Monday 10th January. Voting will remain open until 5pm on Saturday 15th January following our home fixture vs. Altrincham. In order to maintain voting integrity, all votes cast will be cross-referenced with our ticketing and Mariners Trust databases to limit fraudulent entries. Should the original crest win the poll, this will be digitised.

The Board wholeheartedly supports the proposed changes, and the work of Rich on the crest and sees it very much a part of the incremental improvements we have promised, but we also want to put things right when we make mistakes.

We encourage all our supporters to make their voice heard and have their say on our crest and we will be communicating the outcome of the results in due course.
