Cropper joins Barnet on loan

We can this afternoon confirm that Jordan Cropper has joined Barnet on a one-month loan deal.

The 22-year-old right-back first joined the Mariners as a free agent in March 2022, signing a short-term deal until the end of that campaign.

That saw him play a pivotal role in our promotion-winning Play Off run last season with his long throws being a potent weapon for manager Paul Hurst to call upon.

After helping the Mariners earn promotion back to the Football League at the first time of asking, he signed a one-year contract for the current campaign.

However, he has featured only briefly this season, making only seven appearances, the last of those coming in our Papa John’s Trophy victory over Manchester City in November.

He now joins National League side Barnet for a month as the North London club look to seal their place in the Play-Offs.

On Cropper’s loan deal, Hurst said: “Jordan has gone out on loan to Barnet for a month to get some games. Obviously, he has been out for a while with his hamstring and I think it’s really important for him to get some games in.

“Then we’ll reassess at the end of that month. Obviously Barnet and Jordan will come into that equation as well but we wish him well and hopefully he stays fit to get some games in.”

Everyone at the Mariners would like to wish Jordan well for his loan spell.
