Head Coach David Artell has been shortlisted for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month award for January following an impressive turnaround of results that has reignited the Mariners’ promotion push.

After a challenging spell that saw the team endure nine games without a win, Artell remained steadfast in both his approach and his belief in the squad. That resilience paid off in January, with Town collecting 13 points from a possible 15 and going unbeaten across five fixtures.

A key feature of the run was the side’s defensive strength, recording four clean sheets while demonstrating the organisation, discipline, and togetherness that have become hallmarks of Artell’s team. The momentum built during the month has helped propel the Mariners back into contention as the season enters a crucial stage.

The nomination recognises not only the results on the pitch, but also the leadership and composure shown by the Head Coach in guiding the team through adversity and into a strong position for the remainder of the campaign.
