Davies signs for Town

Grimsby Town Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Jordan Davies on loan from Wrexham until the end of the season.

The attacking midfielder’s move to Blundell Park is subject to receiving FA, EFL and international approval.

Following a three-year spell with Brighton & Hove Albion, the 25-year-old has made almost 150 appearances for the Red Dragons since 2020 and scored 21 goals during their 2021-22 National League campaign.

Davies has also featured 60 times for Wrexham over the last two seasons, playing his part in their rise from the National League to League One.

Speaking of Davies’ arrival at Blundell Park, Head Coach David Artell said, “I’m delighted we have been able to bring Jordan to Grimsby Town. He’s a terrific player and we believe he’ll be an excellent acquisition for us.

“We originally spoke to Phil (Parkinson) about Jordan towards the end of last season and he’s been someone we have targeted since then.

“He’s recently been on tour with Wrexham over in America and scored three in four games. He knows where the goal is so we’re looking forward to having those attributes in the team.

“We’re really pleased we have been able to attract Jordan to the Club and beat off a lot of competition for his signature.”

After putting pen to paper on his loan deal with the Mariners, Davies said, “It feels brilliant to be here. I’ve been speaking to the Gaffer over the past couple of weeks, so I’m delighted to get it over the line.

“I think the Club’s a perfect fit for me to get back into the rhythm of playing games week in, week out and I’m looking forward to getting started.

“I’m an attacking midfielder who likes to create goals and also get in the box and score goals as well.”

Welcome to the Mariners, Jordan!
