Grimsby Town Football Club are excited to announce the signing of young Irish midfielder Cian Doyle who joins the Mariners from Bray Wanderers on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.
The 21-year-old becomes David Artell’s fifth signing of the summer, adding further quality and depth to the Mariners’ midfield ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Doyle arrives at Blundell Park after emerging as one of the League of Ireland First Division’s brightest young talents with Bray Wanderers.
A composed and hard-working midfielder, he progressed through the Seagulls’ academy before a spell with Shelbourne, returning to Bray Wanderers at the beginning of 2025.
Since rejoining the club, Doyle has become a key figure in midfield, registering five goals and 11 assists in 53 league appearances.
The midfielder played an influential role in Bray’s push towards the top end of the table, earning widespread praise for his energetic displays and all-action performances in the heart of midfield.
Speaking about his newest recruit, David Artell said:
“Cian is a bright, energetic and young midfielder who we feel has a high ceiling. We’ve been watching him for a while; he’s a strong tackler and fantastic in the air so we are hoping he’ll be a real addition to our midfield.”
Cian is proudly sponsored by Keystone Assets for the upcoming campaign.
Welcome to the Mariners, Cian!
