The Mariners Trust asked us to proactively communicate changes made to match day operations that affect fans, including a reminder of the existing food and drink policy.
For many years, the Club hasn’t permitted external food and drink to be brought into the ground on match days. The adherence to this has gradually decreased over the last few years with a large proportion of waste collected coming from food not sold on site, undermining the business of the kiosk venders.
The stewarding team have been instructed to begin enforcing the long-standing rules more effectively and consistently, as per the signage at all turnstiles. We therefore wanted to remind fans to finish their external food and drink before entering the ground.
We of course understand that in some cases, there are reasonable exceptions to this rule. For example flasks, water and items needed for medical reasons are permitted and exemptions are made for specific cases such as such as neurodiversity and specific behavioural requirements. Tap water is available from the bars.
Cans and glass bottles are prohibited within the ground.
We would like to apologise for any confusion this may have caused.
