Svanthorsson made the move to England to sign for the Mariners ahead of the 2024-25 season on a two- year deal from Icelandic side Breidablik and has improved massively throughout the course of the season, making 47 appearances and scoring five goals in all competitions in his first season in England.

The Iceland International joined Afturelding as a youngster in 2015, before making the move to Breidablik in February 2021, where he had 64 goal involvements in 127 appearances in all compeitions.

The winger has made five appearances for the Icelandic National team, making his debut in a friendly against San Marino in June 2022.
