The 17-year-old Academy prospect was rewarded his first professional contract with the Mariners in August 2026, after an impressive break-through pre-season, putting pen to paper on a two-year deal, with the club holding an option to extend for a further year.
Catchpole joined the Mariners at Under-15 level after previously being part of the Scunthorpe United academy. When Scunthorpe’s programme closed, Town moved quickly to secure his services, fighting off competition from a number of clubs to bring the highly-rated midfielder to Blundell Park. Kristian was part of the Youth Team that won the league title last season.
Originally from Hull, Catchpole has developed into a technically gifted midfielder with a reputation for producing goals and assists, while his energetic performances have made him a standout during his time in the club’s academy.
