Town raced into a two-goal lead inside the first half-hour through Gavan Holohan and Abo Eisa, with the Mariners looking in complete control.

But the visitors responded quickly, scoring twice in the space of five minutes as Liam Kelly pulled one back before Ronan Darcy levelled the scores.

The Mariners were left frustrated in West Sussex after a dominant display yielded only a point.

Town controlled much of the contest and deservedly took the lead three minutes before half-time when Harry Clifton finished from a tight angle following a driving run down the left.

A vital win during the 2020/21 campaign saw the Mariners move off the bottom of the League Two table.

Filipe Morais gave Town the lead midway through the first half with a powerful strike from distance, although Crawley equalised through Jack Powell’s free kick shortly afterwards.
