Grimsby Town defender Harry Davis aims to stay fit for the rest of the season, after being sidelined for five weeks with a medial ligament injury.
The centre-half suffered the injury in the 2-1 Sky Bet League Two defeat to Morecambe at Blundell Park in September.
And now, after starring in the Mariners’ 3-1 Emirates FA Cup first round victory over MK Dons last weekend, the 27-year-old is hoping he can avoid any more potential injuries.
Speaking exclusively on iFollow Mariners, he said: “It was just a nice feeling to be back on the pitch.
“No one likes missing football matches so to be back out there on Saturday was nice, and it was good to get 90 minutes in.
“I thought I did okay. Being out for five weeks the sharpness was still not there, but pleased to win the game and to contribute to get through to the second round.
“I’m pleased to be back and now I just want to stay injury-free for the season, as everyone does, so hopefully I can do that.”
