Freeview | Michael Jolley’s Post Cambridge Press Conference

A disappointed Town boss spoke to the press after watching his side fall to their first defeat in six games.

Jolley said: “It was a below-par performance from us. We struggled to get our game going, and Cambridge did a good job in terms of stopping us from doing that.

“Overall they probably deserved the victory.

“These players have done really well for us and we have been on a good run recently, but this was certainly a below-par performance.

“I think the first goal was always going to be important. It was disappointing that we conceded in that manner.

“We tried some different things tactically. We changed our midfield around a little bit and we made some changes with substitutions.

“We tried to play forward more quickly, but we were unable to unlock the door and they were able to put lots of people behind the ball to stop us from scoring.”

He continued: “Collectively, it was an off-day for us. You can go through our team and probably, apart from the goalkeeper, say that the players were somewhat under-par in terms of the levels they have hit recently.”
