Speaking on iFollow Mariners, the Sunderland loanee said: “It was a tough game today, but I’m delighted to get my first goal for the club.”

Describing that strike in front of the Pontoon stand, he said: “It was a great ball from Hendrie, I made the forward run to try to get in behind their full-backs, I took the guy on and it was in a perfect position for my right foot- luckily it went in for us.”
