Speaking straight after the game, the Town boss said that he can take a lot of positives from his player’s performances.

Jolley said: “It was a hard-fought derby. We knew that Lincoln would like to start the game quickly on the front foot, build momentum and establish territory.

“It’s one thing to know about it and another thing to stop it. Of course we are disappointed to concede the goal in the manner that we did.

“Overall, I thought our performance had a lot of positives. We changed our system of play and I think we showed some good signs with that.

“My players ran until the end and they fought to the end.

“There were some controversial moments in the game, but from our perspective I was pleased with the performance. I’m disappointed with the result of course.

“We’re sorry for our fans that we have come here again and not taken anything.

“What we can say is I think there is an improvement from us and something to build on.”
