Garmston Signs On Deadline Day

Grimsby Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of left-back, Bradley Garmston until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old left-back joins The Mariners following his release from Gillingham earlier today.

Garmston’s footballing education began at West Bromwich Albion, spending three years at the club on a professional basis, enjoying a short-term loan at fellow Sky Bet League Two side, Colchester United in the second half of the 2012/13 season, making 13 appearances for the club.

In January 2015, Garmston enjoyed his first taste of Priestfield as he joined Gillingham on an initial one-month loan, before making the move to Kent permanent in 2015 after signing a three-year-deal. Linking up with fellow Mariner Jake Hessenthaler, Garmston spent four-and-a-half years at the Gills, making 101 appearances in all competitions scoring three goals.

Garmston has also enjoyed International experience across a number of age groups, representing the Republic of Ireland at Under 17, Under 19 and Under 21 level.

As the signing took place after the midday deadline, Bradley will not be eligible for selection tomorrow for our fixture vs. Forest Green Rovers. The defender will make the move up north and take part in his first training session and meet his new team mates and manager on Monday.
