Grimsby Town FC Announces Community Activities for Christmas 2025

Grimsby Town Football Club is delighted to reveal the programme of community-focused activities we’ll be supporting throughout December.

Every Christmas, the Club, Grimsby Town Foundation and the Mariners Trust come together to give back to the people who make our community what it is. From supporting local charities to spreading festive joy to young fans and families, this period is always one of the most important in our calendar.

Tuesday 2nd – Wednesday 17th December: Community Collection with the Mariners Trust

This year marks the launch of the Christmas Community Collection, led by the Mariners Trust, as we join forces to support four incredible local organisations: We Are One Foundation, The Ark, Harbour Place, and Women’s Aid.

Supporters are invited to donate food, warm clothing, toys, toiletries, feminine hygiene products and pet supplies. All cash donations will help We Are One Foundation provide fresh produce for their soup kitchen.

Drop-off points will be available at Blundell Park throughout the collection window. As this is the first year of the initiative, we are hugely grateful to everyone who gets involved and helps make a meaningful impact across our community.

Monday 8th December: Christmas Dinner with Harbour Place

The Grimsby Town Foundation is teaming up with Harbour Place, our local homeless charity, to host a free Christmas Dinner at Blundell Park.

Guests will enjoy a warm meal, friendly company with David Artell and a festive afternoon at Blundell Park. This collaboration allows us to offer comfort and support at what can be a challenging time of year for many.

Thursday 11th December: Junior & Disabled Supporters’ Christmas Parties

One of our favourite annual traditions returns as we welcome Junior Mariners and our Disabled Supporters Association to Blundell Park for their special Christmas celebrations.

The 1878 Junior members event is taking place in McMenemy’s, the celebration will include appearances from the Men’s and Women’s First Team squads, Head Coach David Artell, and of course… Santa himself.

Young supporters will enjoy gifts, food and the chance to meet their heroes – always one of the most memorable moments of the year.

Tickets are £5 per child and are available to 1878 Juniors and Mariners Trust children. Please note that it’s one free adult per child ticket purchased.

Tickets can be purchased from the Ticket Office at Blundell Park and online by clicking here.

Monday 15th December: Hospital & Hospice Visits

Carrying on a long-standing GTFC tradition, members of the Men’s First Team and staff will visit Grimsby Hospital and St Andrew’s Hospice to deliver gift bags.

GTFC representatives will spend time with children and families on the wards, bringing festive joy to those who need it most.

Monday 22nd & Tuesday 23rd December: GTFC Foundation Christmas Football Courses

The Grimsby Town Foundation will round off our Christmas activity with two days of festive football fun at Clee Fields.

This year’s programme is bigger than ever, offering dedicated sessions for Goalkeepers, SEND players, Girls, and Boys.

Young players of all abilities are invited to join, with high-quality coaching, games and plenty of Christmas spirit throughout.

Spaces are expected to fill quickly, with supporters able to book here.

Monday 8th – Sunday 14th December: EFL Christmas in the Community Week

Some of this year’s activities also coincide with the EFL’s Christmas in the Community Week, a national celebration running from Monday 8th to Sunday 14th December. The campaign shines a spotlight on the incredible work carried out by EFL clubs and their Community Organisations throughout the festive period.

As part of this week of action, clubs across the country will take part in fundraising efforts, community meals, outreach programmes and initiatives that support health, wellbeing, education and social connection. Grimsby Town FC is proud to stand alongside fellow EFL clubs in championing the power of football to bring people together, lift spirits, and make a tangible difference in the lives of local families.

Speaking about our community activities this Christmas, Chief Executive Polly Bancroft said: “Christmas is always a special time for everyone connected with Grimsby Town, and this year’s programme truly reflects the heart of our club. We’re incredibly proud to work alongside the Grimsby Town Foundation and the Mariners Trust to support those who need it most, celebrate our young supporters, and bring some extra festive joy to our community.

From the Community Collection to launch of our new Christmas Dinner with Harbour Place, these initiatives show what can be achieved when our supporters, staff and partners come together with a shared purpose. We’re grateful to the support of 1878 investor Miles Gooseman for supporting the initiatives, and I know they’ll make a real difference across our community this December.

Our players, coaches and staff look forward to these activities every year, and it means a great deal to us to give back to the people who make this club what it is. Whether we’re visiting hospitals and hospices, celebrating with Junior 1878 members, or delivering football sessions, we want every interaction to reflect the compassion and togetherness that defines Grimsby Town.”
