Grimsby Town Women Sign Goalkeeper Kelsey Fletcher On Dual-Registration

Grimsby Town Women FC are delighted to announce the signing of Lincoln City Women’s goalkeeper Kelsey Fletcher on a dual-registration basis.

Fletcher was part of the successful Nettleham Ladies team prior to the club’s name change to Lincoln City Women earlier this year. She is experienced, having been part of a team that has enjoyed league success in the FA Women’s National League and has also won County Cup silverware.

She is described as an excellent goalkeeper, and goes straight into the team on Sunday due to our own goalkeeper crisis. Stopper Chelsea Brittle continues to struggle with a knee injury and could be out for a few weeks yet, with much-needed rest required.

Manager Dale Houlston said: “First and foremost I would like to thank Richard Cooper at Lincoln City for helping to smooth this signing. He has been incredibly accommodating, and his help in wavering usual formalities has been brilliant.

“It was touch and go as to whether we could get the signing sorted before Friday’s 12pm deadline, but I’m pleased to say it’s all worked out well, meaning Kelsey is eligible to play for us this weekend.”

“I’ve known Kelsey for some years. I came across her in girls academy football, particularly when I was at Boston United RTC. She will be a positive addition to the group at a time when we face a difficult situation in the goalkeeper department.

“Competition rules permit dual-registration of players from different leagues, and so we will work both with Kelsey and Lincoln City in managing her appearances.”
