Grimsby Town Women Sign Libbi Wright

Grimsby Town Women’s Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of attacker Libbi Wright.

Talented left-sided attacking player Wright attended the trials recently, and quickly demonstrated a number of qualities which caught the eye of the management and training team.

Wright is a local girl who has played locally for Cleethorpes Town and Solar, as well as playing university football in Liverpool at the John Moores University.

Speaking exclusively to gtfc.co.uk, she said: “I am really excited and happy to be a part of this from the beginning.

“The level of professionalism and organisation that the club is showing is brilliant, and I could see straight away that the club is ambitious for progression and promotions.”

Grimsby Town Women’s FC manager Dale Houlston praised Wright’s character and attitude, as well as her ability on the pitch.

He said: “Libbi lit up the park from the moment she arrived at the trial. She demonstrated some real quality, not only as a player but also as a great character.

“She has been out of the game as a player for a little while, but if what we saw on Saturday was Libbi a little bit rusty, then it’s very exciting what she is going to look like after a few training sessions.

“She is really good on the ball, and understands the game tactically, but she also has some great leadership qualities.”

Wright describes herself as a passionate and committed team player who gives 100 per cent and leaves everything out on the pitch.

We look forward to seeing Wright proudly wearing the black and white stripes of Grimsby Town. We will also have news of more signings for the women’s team very soon.
