On Sunday, Shaun Pearson, Joe Hutchinson, and Chris Davey took to the streets in Manchester to take part in the 2024 Manchester Marathon.
The route took them from the starting point in Manchester city centre down to Stretford, Sale, Altrincham, Trafford and back to the city centre in a run lasting 26.2 miles (42.1km).
This was all in aid of Chris’ daughter Sophia. You can read Sophia’s story by clicking here.
All donations will go towards the costs of two physiotherapy sessions at the Footsteps Centre in Oxford to help fulfil Sophia’s goal of being able to walk.
Assistant Head Coach Shaun Pearson said, “I promised Chris that when I finished playing football that I’d come run a marathon with him to help him raise some money for his daughter in her situation and the marathon came around a bit quicker than what I thought.
“It was much tougher than what I thought but I’m delighted to get it done and delighted to get it done for Chris and his family because they’re going through a tough time.”
Just under £5,000 has been raised so far!
