GTSET Partner With GTFC Youth

Grimsby Town Sports and Education Trust (GTSET) are delighted to announce a new partnership with Neil Woods’ Grimsby Town F.C. Youth Team.

GTSET’s new U19 Football Shadow Scholarship program will link up with the club’s youth system from next season.

The working relationship will provide a possible route for local late-developing footballers back into the elite side of the game. It will also provide fantastic and varied work experience opportunities for the GTSET college students wishing to develop in the non-playing side of the game such as coaching, performance analysis and physiotherapy inside the clubs’ youth and academy set-up.

Graham Rodger- Former Town player and manager and now head of Grimsby Town Sports and Education Trust said:

“This exciting new program allows young players to develop and mature using both football and futsal to improve their all-round game.

Linked closely with the highly successful GTFC Academy we will act as a shadow squad giving players the opportunity to excel and open doors to possibly get into the professional game for GTFC. This will go hand in hand with a highly regarded BTEC Level 3 Sport course (Extended Diploma) which is delivered in the GTSET Education Suite at Blundell Park.

Combining both the Academic and Practical elements of the program gives scholars the opportunity to succeed both on and off the field.”

You can still apply for a place on the football shadow scholarship starting September 2021, please visit the link below for more information.
