The shortlist for the first Hartwell Grimsby Player of the Month award has been revealed, with six Mariners in contention for the August prize.
Supporters can now have their say and vote for the player they believe made the biggest impact during the opening month of the 2026/27 campaign.
The award is being sponsored by Hartwell Grimsby for the 2026/27 season, with the monthly prize giving supporters the opportunity to recognise the standout performer from David Artell’s first-team squad.
The six players shortlisted for August are Christy Pym, Justin Amaluzor, Geza David Turi, Cian Doyle, Maldini Kacurri and Harvey Rodgers.
Christy Pym
Pym has played an important role between the sticks during Town’s unbeaten start to the League Two campaign.
The goalkeeper kept clean sheets in the 1-0 opening day victory over Exeter City, as well as the goalless draw at Walsall – before producing another solid display against Fleetwood Town at Blundell Park.
His performances have helped provide a strong foundation for the Mariners as the season has got underway.
Justin Amaluzor
Amaluzor has featured prominently during the opening weeks of the campaign, providing energy and attacking threat from the wide areas.
The forward started the season against Blackpool before playing a key role in Town’s victory against Exeter and draws against Walsall and Fleetwood.
Geza David Turi
Turi has quickly established himself as an important part of Artell’s side following his arrival at the Club.
The Faroe Islands international has impressed with his defensive contribution and creativity, including a superb assist for Andy Cook’s goal against Fleetwood.
Turi also earned Player of the Match recognition against Fleetwood after another influential performance.
Cian Doyle
Doyle has made a strong impression during his first month as a Mariner, featuring consistently at the heart of Town’s midfield.
The Irishman played an important role in the clean sheet at Walsall and produced another impressive display against Fleetwood, scoring his debut goal for the club on the way to securing an important point at home.
Maldini Kacurri
Kacurri has been another key figure in Town’s defensive unit during August.
The centre-back has featured in all three of the Mariners’ League Two fixtures so far, helping Town keep clean sheets against Exeter and Walsall as the side remained unbeaten in the league.
Harvey Rodgers
Rodgers has provided consistency and experience to the Town defence throughout the opening month of the season.
The defender started all four of the Mariners’ fixtures in August, including the clean-sheet victory over Exeter where he netted the winner. He also scored the opening goal of our season in the Carabao Cup against Blackpool.
