We are excited to announce that our home shirt for the 2025-26 campaign will be available in the Club Shop from Saturday morning.
The shirt, by our technical kit suppliers Umbro, draws its inspiration from the one the Mariners wore the first time the Club appeared at Wembley back in ’98 – an iconic kit which should evoke special memories for supporters who remember that spectacular occasion and period for everyone associated with Grimsby Town Football Club.
It features myenergi across the chest on a red background, in a direct reference to the original jersey and a build on last season’s kit, a classy woven badge, red Umbro logo, contemporary collar and cuffs and a retro fabric.
The logos of three other local businesses appear on the kit – Blackrow on the sleeve, Winner Winner Chicken Dinner on the back and 3Q Industrial Supplies Ltd on the shorts.
We’ve also incorporated fan feedback around the panel on the back of shirt, making it easier to read the names and numbers.
The rising costs from our suppliers, unfortunately means we have had to increase the price of an adult shirt by £4 to £54 and a junior one by £2 to £44. Replica mini-kits will be priced at £47.
On the design of the Club’s new home shirt, CEO Polly Bancroft said, “We know that our first appearance at Wembley back in 1998 carries very special meaning for our supporters. Over 30,000 were there that day to share probably the most iconic moment in the Club’s history.”
“So when Luke Matthews and Jack Johnson came up with the idea to re-imagine the shirt worn that day for this season’s kit, it made absolute sense. The shirt, and kit, is full of nods back to that very special time to be a Mariner, while also looking really contemporary, too.
“We hope fans enjoy the sense of nostalgia the shirt evokes and maybe some of the ‘Spirit of ’98’ will translate onto the pitch next season.
“We hope fans understand the reasons behind the price increase. We really appreciate their support.”
In addition to the home shirt, shorts and socks (which are black this coming season, to match the theme) there will also be new Umbro training wear on sale in the Club Shop from Saturday morning.
