Host Families Required

We are looking for host families to support our young players (aged 16 to 18 years old) who need to live away from home while they undertake their scholarships with the club.

Our aim is to supply our young players with homely accommodation to provide them with the best chance to succeed during their time with Grimsby Town Football Club. Hosts are encouraged to include them in family life as much as they want to be and offer them home cooked meals in line with the basic nutrition guide/information provided by the Club. We also want host families to help and assist young players with basic independent living skills such as learning to wash, cook and clean for themselves. Players also require their own bedroom and access to public transport and local amenities.

The football club is committed to equal opportunities as well as safeguarding, promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Any applicant wishing to be considered as a host family will need to demonstrate they are able to share this commitment. As part of this commitment, host families are required to attend Safeguarding Training every three years and all family members over the age of 16 who reside at the address are legally required to complete enhanced DBS checks.

Please note that all our host families are regularly visited and inspected by Grimsby Town Football Club and will receive expenses to cover the day-to-day costs of supporting our scholars.

If you are interested in the role, please fill in an application online by clicking here. For further information please contact Kris Hoskins by emailing [email protected].
