iFollow | He’s Back!

Elliott Whitehouse talks to iFollow Mariners about his return after 12 months out injured.

“It feels good, not just physically but mentally as well,” he said.

“Everyone knows that it’s been a long journey. But for me to get that first 45 minutes, after a tough training camp, is a massive plus.

“After the game, I feel good. It’s about keeping on top of it and getting through these games and training sessions.”

And Michael Jolley gave his reaction to his side’s 8-0 victory in Saturday’s friendly at Clee Town.

Jolley said:“In a game like this, it’s really about getting minutes into the guys and doing so without picking up any injuries. It looks as though we have done that, so it’s mission accomplished in that respect.

“Of course, you would always rather win these games than lose them, but you don’t read too much into that. It’s very, very early days but it’s good to get minutes in – it was a good day all round.

“We mixed the teams up. The second half team was slightly younger and the first half was a bit more experienced. I think there was still a good mixture in both.”
