We are pleased to announce that Jamie Walker has won the Sky Bet League Two Goal of the Month for September for his long range effort against Cheltenham Town.
Walker didn’t hesitate as the ball sprang to him in space 35 yards from goal. He collected it on the run before rifling it at pace, and still half on the turn, unerringly into the far top corner.
Walker said: “I’m buzzing to win goal of the month, thanks to everyone who voted. Extra special that it was my first goal for the club!”
Lead Sky Bet EFL Goal of the Month judge and Sky Sports Pundit Don Goodman said: “Jamie Walker probably couldn’t believe the space he found himself in midfield and he didn’t hesitate in punishing Cheltenham for it. He took the strike on a good 30 yards from goal and it flew straight as an arrow into the top corner.”
Walker beat off competition from Salford City’s Jorge Grant, Barnet’s Nnamdi Ofoborh and Bromley’s Michael Cheek.
The winners of the Sky Bet EFL Goals of the Month were selected by a panel of experts and a public vote.
The panel comprises Sky Sports’ EFL experts Don Goodman and David Prutton.
