Jolley Finally Gets His Man

Shrewsbury Town defender, Luke Waterfall has joined the Mariners on a two-year deal.

Waterfall made 54 appearances for The Shrews last season, scoring six goals.

He arrived at Greenhous Meadow from Lincoln City, where he had helped the Imps win promotion to the Football League as Champions, and win the Checkatrade Trophy in 2018.

The 29-year-old was also part of the Lincoln City side that had an incredible FA Cup run in 2016/17, reaching the quarter-final as a non-league side.

Prior to joining Lincoln, Luke had spent time with Wrexham and Scunthorpe.

And Town boss Michael Jolley is delighted to finally get his man. Speaking to gtfc.co.uk, he said: “I am delighted to secure the signing of Luke Waterfall. He is a proven leader and will add great experience to our dressing room.

“We have worked hard on this deal for some considerable time and it is very good business for us to finally agree the deal. Luke will add to the competition that we already have in the squad and I am convinced he will become a very important player for Grimsby Town.

“Welcome to Blundell Park, Luke.”

Luke will be squad number 6 for Town.
